What role does music play in your life and does it mesh with any of the practices and meaning described in the readings?
I'm never without some form of music whether its on my Mp3 player, on my computer or in a movie. The readings make mention of the fact that many people used music as a background whilst they do other things, I find it almost impossible to concentrate on something without music playing in the background. I find that it helps to create a barrier between myself and the outside space helping me focus on what I'm doing.
Are your tastes shared with other people or groups that you are in contact with?
With the people I know there is like a collection of music genres and bands that are common ground and beyond that it's pretty much individual taste.
How do you usually 'pick up' a musician/band or song?
I listen to the Internet radio and every now and then there's a song that I haven't heard before that really takes my fancy so I usually Google it to find out more about the band. Otherwise someone usually mentions a new band that they're interested in whilst we're in the middle of a Dynamis run in the MMORPG that I play and after the run I usually Google the band to find out more.
Do you download music, watch videos with music, reveal your tastes in online profiles and applications?
I do download music, a lot of the bands that I've come across you just can't get in a music store in Australia. When I'm finding out about a new band I'll immediately hit YouTube to have a listen and see if I want to get their stuff.
I don't usually reveal my tastes in online profiles and whatnot since they more often then not ask for your favorite band and/or genre and I don't have a favourite. I have several different playlists that have several different genres and bands that are played dependant on my mood.

NET 12: Module 1.1 - Dating, Sex and Porn
How far would a partner/spouse have to go online before it is considered cheating?
Keeping their interaction with a person a secret is well on the road to cheating and cybersex is over and above. So somewhere in between.
Up to what point is flirting online acceptable?
I heard somewher that flirting is human nature and that apparently everybody does it whether they mean to or not. With that in mind I'd say that the point of unacceptabilty lies in the intentions of the person doing the flirting. If a person is in a relationship and is flirting with someone else with the intention (or hope) of it going further then it's probably already to late.
How 'real' is cybersex?
How 'real' is anything on the web? How 'real' is reality?
Reality is subjective, it is dependant on the perceptions of the individual, one person will see the world and all it encompasses differently to how another person will see it.
So the answer to the question is dependant on the views of the people involved. Personally I don't see it being any different to physical sex (apart from the bleeding obvious), it's still a sexual action taken by people that has the same emotional responses and ramifications, you just don't have to worry about STDs and pregnancy.

NET 12: Assignment 1 - Part 2
I am a programmer. These days the majority of my work is not only done with the aide of online applications or references, it is predominately based on web enabled applications.
With the mainstream introduction of the internet, it is now very easy and common to de-centralise the building of an application. Programmers from all around the world are able to contribute to a single applications source. Likewise the internet has also enabled easy and rapid deployment of applications.
The ease of access and availabilty is also a double edge sword; competition amongst developers is at the highest its ever been. However the end user can but win from tight competition, as faster, leaner and more varied solutions become available.
An average day for me typically consists of; start the morning by checking my various mailing lists, check out the latest technilogical news (slashdot, digg, IBM, Sun, etc.), fire up the online resources for the project that I am currently working on, open my IDE and download the lastest source on the current project (checking, modifying and committing any recent changes) and then lastly browse xkcd.com while waiting for the project to compile.
With the current development field the way it is, the lack of the Internet would send most of us back to the dark ages. Freelance developers rely absolutely on the Internet and the sheer flexibility that it allows.
